The event brought student-athletes, educators, families, and neighbors together on the district's main campus for an unforgettable day of athletic achievement and community unity. 

The day kicked off with a high-energy opening ceremony and the traditional parade of athletes. Competitors were proudly escorted onto the track by the High School Drum Line through a line of honor composed of representatives from local emergency service and first responders.  Athletes were then celebrated by student supporters of all grade levels as they continued around the track. Following the lighting of the torch, athletes showcased their hard work, determination, and sportsmanship across a variety of track and field events.

The event’s success was fueled by an outpouring of community support, featuring dozens of student volunteers, including cohorts from the National Junior Honor Society and the High School’s Special Education Advocacy (SEA) Committee, who cheered on the competitors and assisted with the games. As a nationally recognized Special Olympics Unified Champion School®, Rondout Valley continues to lead the region in fostering a culture of inclusion, acceptance, and mutual respect.
